What happens to your email address.

The form on this site asks for one thing, and this page says exactly what is done with it. Nothing here is written to be difficult to read.

What is collected

Your email address, and nothing else. There is no name field, no organization field, and no question about where you work. If you write to us directly we hold that message as well, for as long as the conversation is useful.

Why it is collected

To send you Every Document a New Nonprofit Needs, and to tell you when The Founder’s Library publishes. That is the whole purpose. Entering your address is how you consent to it, and withdrawing that consent takes one click.

Who else sees it

The list is held by Kit, the email service that sends these messages on our behalf. Kit processes your address so that mail can be delivered to it, and for no purpose of its own. Nobody else is given access.

Your address is not sold, rented, traded, or shared. That sentence appears beside the sign-up form, and this page is what stands behind it. There is no advertising on this site, and no advertiser is given anything.

How long it is kept

Until you unsubscribe, or until the list is closed. Unsubscribing stops all future mail immediately. The record that you unsubscribed is kept, because keeping it is how the request is honored.

How to leave, and how to be erased

Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and one click is enough. If you would rather the address were deleted outright than simply unsubscribed, write to hello@ikewayne.com and say so, and it will be. You may also ask what is held about you and be told.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no third-party advertising scripts. The only request that leaves your browser for another company is the one that submits the form, and that happens only when you submit it.

Children

This site is written for adults starting organizations. It is not directed at children, and no address is knowingly collected from anybody under thirteen.

If this page changes

The date below is when it last did. A change that affects what is done with an address already on the list will be sent to that list, rather than only posted here.
